The Truth About Visalus Sciences – My Story

Here’s a little report that is my story on Visalus Sciences. Its basically a review of what happened in my experience with them.

I used to work in the mortgage industry and made 6-figures a year. I had a nice lifestyle, but I was working way too many hours, and it wasn’t really my favorite thing to do. I had tried network marketing before in a few different companies, but had decided that it was a waste of time.

A friend approached me about a company called Visalus Sciences. Because it was a start up, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be another network marketing scam that was out of business in the first year or two. So, I wanted a full report to know that Visalus Sciences was not a scam. I also wanted to do some research of my own on Visalus’s management, the product, the compensation, and timing.

My first point of concern about it was that the management was mostly young, or at least the 3 main guys were. They were all in their 20's. I had actually somewhat known 2 of them as distributors with a lot of past success in other companies. However, just because someone has been a distributor does not mean that they can run a company. At least the CEO, Ryan Blair, had had a few successful traditional businesses such as a real estate company.

I did some research on Ryan Blair and thankfully and surprisingly found nothing but positive information. He has been a kind of motivational speaker as well.

(This impressed me but still, they were some young guys. I then went to find out that had other partners that were not on the face of things. Vice President’s with decades of experience with huge companies were behind the scenes. The biggest for me was the financial backing.)—HUH?

As impressive as this was, what was better to know was that Visalus had a financial backing from a silent partner that is a billion dollar company in the direct sales industry. That is good to know because at least that way, I knew they wouldn’t be out of business tomorrow.

My second concern was the product. There are a lot of nutritional products out there, but why is the Vi-Pak (their main product) any better than the other thousands of products. I knew of a lot of MLM nutritional companies that are mostly based on hype and bad research. So, I read about Dr. Michael Seidman, Visalus’s Director of Product Research and Development. As simple as it sounds, I just Googled “Dr. Michael Seidman,” and that said enough about his resume.

Of course I am going to take my business seriously, so I had to go meet the management. I met the management and many others and came to the conclusion that Visalus was not a pyramid scam, but was a legitimate company.

So, then I looked at the compensation plan. It had a good balance between the up front money and the residual pay. As some of you know, a lot of nutritional MLM companies have huge front loaded money and horrible residuals. So, I knew I could make some now-upfront-money, and as well, some residuals to make money while I sleep. In addition, they are giving out a free BMW when you reach a mid-level position. I wouldn’t mind a black BMW, I thought.

The last major concern for me was timing of the company. The biggest risk in any start up is that they will be gone their first year. At the same time you want to get involved in the first three years of a company. Its no big secret that all the big time money earners got involved in their companies in the first three years of business before the company was big. ViSalus officially became a company in March of 2005, then, spent over a year putting everything together before their official launch in August of 2006. This to me is great because Visalus is over the major humps of the first year in business, but still very ground floor and bringing very strong financial backing and management to we can be confident they will be here in ten years.

So, after doing my little investigative report on ViSalus Sciences I did end up joining the company. I had to start super part time due to the fact that I was working about 60 hours a week doing mortgages but I did enroll. I was putting in about 90 minutes to two hours a day when I first started. To make a long story short, after about 5 months working the business I found myself making enough through my little part time business to cover my mortgage in Huntington Beach, CA at the time, car payments and living expenses. Oh and since the BMW program I am driving a brand new BMW 530 which they pay for it every month.

To me the biggest perk of all, is that I am putting in about a third of the time I was putting in doing mortgages because after all you can always make more money but you can not buy more time!

So, Visalus Sciences is not a pyramid scam MLM company, but is a legitimate company.
